New Mexico Acupuncture License
The New Hampshire Board of Acupuncture Licensing (NHBAL) has five members: four licensed acupuncturists and one public member. Board members are appointed by the Governor, approved by the Executive Council and serve for three year terms. Board members are not compensated for their services, but do receive mileage reimbursement for Board-related travel.The NHBAL is required to meet at least two times a year, but currently meets four times a year, usually in March, June, September and December. Meetings are held on Fridays from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the offices of the Department of Health and Human Services in Concord.

If you are interested in attending please contact for the time and date of the next meeting.One of the principle duties of the Board is the creation and enforcement of rules governing the practice of acupuncture in New Hampshire. The original Board spent two years writing the initial version of the acupuncture rules, which were approved by the legislature in the fall of 1999, paving the way for the approval of the first acupuncture licenses on November 5, 1999. Much of the Board's ongoing activity focuses on reviewing new license applications and license renewals, establishing policies and procedures for all aspects of licensing, and the upholding of ethical and professional standards. As the Medical Director for Mountain Spirit, he leads our Team of Providers in the development and provision of our dynamic Integrative Medical services, including Primary Care and Functional Medicine. He is honored to be chosen by our local community as aDr. Taylor earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997 from San Francisco State University, where a majored in Psychology with a minor in Holistic Health Studies.
There he began his journey of wellness in courses such as Eastern Perspectives in Healing, and became enamored with the foundations of Traditional Asian Medicine. In 2004 he completed his post-graduate degree in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College here in Santa Fe. Pediatrics, at Reach the Children SchoolFrom early 2006 through 2009 he worked on-site at the Cancer Institute of New Mexico, providing palliative oncology care for chemotherapy- and radiation-induced side effects. Taylor was invited to work there based on numerous peer-reviewed studies appearing in major oncology journals, demonstrating acupuncture's effectiveness for treating these conditions. Patients experienced such success from these natural medicine treatments that the center wished to expand his offerings, prior to being bought by a large hospital corporation. For over a decade, Dr. Taylor continues to treat many cancer survivors here at Mountain Spirit.Brandon has an even longer history assisting people in Recovery from substance abuse and chemical dependency. His experience includes private practice treatments as well as integrative work with community-based drug treatment centers.
New Mexico Acupuncture Licensing
Certified by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) since 2004, he became a NM State Certified ADS Supervisor to promote expansion of AcuDetox throughout NM. In this capacity Dr. Taylor has supervised licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselors that provide the AcuDetox protocol to their clients in both residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment centers.He has volunteered as an assistant at NADA trainings for addictions treatment professionals in Tijuana, Mexico and Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. This work combined with successful completion of their curriculum led to his recognition as a NADA Registered Trainer. In this capacity, he is able to provide the NADA training to other substance abuse treatment professionals throughout North America. Blender game modeling. In 2015 he completed a four year tenure with NADA's national Board of Directors. Taylor was born into a family tradition of healthcare. His maternal grandmother Esther Porter finished her career in Nursing at the hospital where he was born in Sacramento, California. His mother Pamela Taylor retired from her career as an RN at the very same hospital, having completed over 30 years in practice. Victor Bunch Taylor, his paternal grandfather, worked as a member of the Army Medical Service Corps during World War II and retired from his career as Commander for a division of the Medical Service Corp's San Antonio, TX training center.Brandon's passion for helping others began when he volunteered for his junior high school's Peer Counseling program. Then at Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, CA he served as a Conflict Manager. In this capacity he worked together with a team of fellow students and faculty to nonviolently resolve peer conflicts through dialogue and consensus building. During his junior year he became a volunteer for the California Youth Crisis Line, assisting callers with a wide range of issues and needs by utilizing their model of active listening and empowerment.
In his senior year, he was hired as a Teen Leader for the CA State funded Education Now and Babies Later (ENABL) Program, to promote family planning for healthier communities.After completing his undergraduate degree, Brandon worked in several helping professions. He provided counseling for severely emotionally disturbed adolescents at a group home in Oakland, CA.
He worked as an Interviewer-Counselor with UCSF's Urban Health Study, utilizing a Harm Reduction model to support injection drug users in choosing healthier behaviors. For years he was a Case Manager and Counselor at Walden House's long-term residential substance abuse treatment facilities in San Francisco. He worked for the San Francisco Department of Health's AIDS Office in programs designed to prevent the spread of Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Soon after moving to New Mexico in 2000, the state Department of Health hired him as a Disease Prevention Specialist.
As a DPS he worked with individuals and communities across northern New Mexico to prevent the spread of STD's, HIV, and viral Hepatitis; including work in Harm Reduction counseling, phlebotomy to test for blood borne infections, and as a provider for NM's Syringe Exchange Program.Today Dr. Taylor balances his professional responsibilities with his favorite personal activities: traveling, hiking, camping, dancing, skiing, swimming, and soaking in hot springs.
